The third generation Audi A6 (C6) is approaching its mid-life crisis, and after being on the market since 2005, spy photographers have snapped an A6 Avant showing its facelift without disguise. From what we can see in the pictures, the facelift consists of a redesigned front bumper fascia with a more pronounced bottom lip along the lines of the new A3 Cabrio and A5, larger right and left side lower grilles and rectangular fog lamps. The front grille also gets significant alterations with a fewer number of horizontal slats, and
similar to the RS 6 Avant, the center bar where the license plate mounts has been removed allowing for one continuous center grille area. From the rear, the bumper looks unchanged although the tail lights seem to show a different LED design. However, one detail we cannot see in these photos is the presence of LED day-time driving lights
seen on the S6. It was rumored that the facelifted A6, like its newer siblings the A5 and A4 and A3 Cabriolet, would receive the attention grabbing LED lights but we are unable to see them in these photos. We suspect they are present in the lower bumper grilles but the car's black color and cloudy skies make it difficult.
